Gentle Hearts is set in southern Oregon. Gabe West is a rancher struggling with the running of his ranch and with the care and raising his baby daughter, Ammié, single-handedly. One day Laurie Preston arrives, having been hired by Gabes aunt, to care for Ammié. Laurie soon cherished the little girl, but it took her longer for her to come to terms with Gabe.
Both Gabe and Laurie had loved and lost and both were wary of trusting again. Laurie turned his house into a home, reminded him how to enjoy life, and showed him how to share his tender loving feelings. And when he was arrested for the murder of his late wife, she was the one who believed in his innocence.
With its warm, tender love story and sweet, charming characters, Gentle Hearts is a lovely Homespun romance. -Romantic Times
Ms. Woods story is a real treasure. I enjoyed it from beginning to end. - Vera Feig, Affaire de Coeur
This book shows sensitivity and understanding. Ms. Wood has given a little piece of herself to those who open these covers and its well worth the time to read this sensitive story of a gentler time with a love strong enough to bear whatever comes its way. Congratulations, Ms. Wood! - J.M.,Heartland Critiques
