After working with the Children's Aid Society for a year, Jordan Stone has one more duty to perform before setting out on his own. Eleanore Merrill provided a loving, safe home for five orphaned children in her small Nebraska town.
She meets Jordan at the Children's Aid Society meeting hoping to learn how they place children in good homes. While there, she also visits with Amelia, a little girl who was one of the Orphan Train Children being placed. Eleanore offers to take Jordan and Amelia to the adopting family, but the situation turns out badly, and Eleanore takes Amelia and Jordan home with her.
Jordan soon becomes involved in her life and with her children. Eleanore not only made room for him in her home but in her heart. Together they survive a hurricane and strive to make their dreams come true.
