Here's to the joy of writing and reading romance! As you might guess by my record of awards as a prepublished author, writing historical romance is a
passion. Ever since I was a child, when my mother read Grimm's Fairy Tales (the real, scary ones, not the mellow versions) to me, I've been a fan of taking a trip back in time to the days of old. Growing up, I discovered the genre' of historical romance. I gobbled up stories of dashing knights and feisty southern belles,

brave warriors and dastardly villains, fair damsels and the bigger-than-life heroes dreams are made of. In historical romance the action is always exciting, the love story thrilling, the happy ending totally satisfying.
Why not try to write a romance? That question nagged me for years while I followed another path. Then my dear husband of twenty-one years, Tom, bought a new computer and gave me his old one. From the first day I sat down at that small Mac and put the first sentence on the first page of my first novel, I was hooked. Creating characters, allowing them the freedom to drive the story was great fun, and, I soon discovered, a lot of hard work. The work was worth it, however, for I've met some wonderful people, have learned and grown through networking and conferences, and have had a great time on the journey.
