Lynn Drzick, president of Katharsys Pictures, a Michigan native, began his professional career in the entertainment industry at Brookstone Production Company in Florida. He served as executive writer on several national television series for CNBC and the USA Network, as well as writing scripts for dozens of other companies. Early in 1994, he formed Katharsys Pictures, dedicated to developing, scripting and producing intelligent science fiction and horror stories. He has written six motion picture screen-plays and produced and directed two short movies. IN THE WOODS will be his first screenplay adapted into a full-length motion picture, to be filmed in late 1996/early 1997 utilizing the F/X wizards who brought Harry and the Hendersons, Angels in the Outfield and Evil Dead II to life.
The idea for a complete package for IN THE WOODS includes a comic book adaptation by Nightshade International Graphics/Dreamweaver Studios as well as the novelization by Nancy Gideon, who was selected to write the dark fantasy on the strength of her vampire romance series which was recommended by an area bookstore.
Also in the development stage is a sequel, IN THE WOODS II, ORIGIN OF THE BEAST and PALE FIRE, which leans toward science fiction rather than horror.
