From being a first mover in solar to having advised on over a third of all UK solar projects, we've been involved in some of the most innovative UK projects to date.

Acting for developers, funders, investors, local authorities, landowners and high profile joint ventures, our involvement in the sector spans commercial solar farms, domestic and commercial rooftop installations to newer technologies such as carport solar and multi-technology projects that look to combine solar with other assets such as battery storage and EV charging points.

We have also supported clients as they expand their market reach. For example, Blackfinch Investments on its first foray into renewables development – a 6MW subsidy-free solar farm  - and Thrive Renewables on its first commercial rooftop solar initiative – Thrive joined forced with Olympus Power, developing a new financing framework which provides the funding for Olympus to install hundreds of commercial solar arrays.

Our team of experts provide cross-jurisdictional advice across the project lifecycle on both a single site and volume basis in relation to finance, real estate and planning (including the DCO process for solar), commercial, corporate, construction and private wire and commercial PPAs. We also have particular expertise in advising on the disposal and acquisition of portfolios of subsidised and subsidy-free operational, consented and pre-consented assets.

  • Innova Energy with a £30m refinancing of its 57MW portfolio of UK rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV projects. The transaction was financed by NatWest and is the first SONIA based project finance facility to be made available by NatWest.
  • Low Carbon on the development UK’s largest community-owned solar park. TLT has supported Low Carbon from inception through to agreeing a deal with Low Carbon Hub in connection with the Ray Valley Solar Park in Arncott, Oxfordshire. This is Low Carbon Hub’s first subsidy-free solar project, the 19MW site also has planning approval for battery storage.
  • Korkia on its partnership with Evolution Power to fund the development of an initial pipeline of 1GW of clean power projects. The transaction was arranged by RSF Capital Partners, a co-sponsor partner of Korkia, which also participated in the deal.
