Lauren is a Senior Associate specialising in advising on complex data protection matters.

She combines her detailed technical knowledge with commercial pragmatism, developed by working across diverse sectors, to deliver the best outcomes for her clients.

She advises Government departments, police forces, local authorities and non-public body clients from tech start-ups to global plcs on both contentious and non-contentious data protection and privacy matters.

Lauren regularly coordinates large GDPR compliance and review projects; negotiates data sharing and data processing agreements and provides advice on complex international data sharing structures including binding corporate rules.

She also manages large data breaches, including corresponding with the ICO in relation to their investigations, and leads review teams on responses to complex and high profile data subject access requests.

Experience

  • Lauren was the Privacy Lead in the Test and Trace legal team,  dealing with the Government’s Covid response while on secondment to the UK Health Security Agency.
  • Advising multiple global plc companies on binding corporate rules applications, the appointment of an EU representative and various international intra-group company data sharing agreements.
  • Advising a large online retail brand when purchasing another retail company, in particular in respect of the acquisition of the customer database and marketing position.
  • Advising numerous clients on pan-EEA data protection in practice, specifically post-Brexit, and in respect of international data transfers post-Schrems II, including the implementation of Standard Contractual Clauses and International Data Transfer Agreements.
