Rebecca advises employers, contractors, sub-contractors and consultants in a range of engineering and construction disputes, including professional negligence claims, defects and payment disputes.

She has undertaken extensive work on cladding and defective external wall systems, liaising closely with experts and advising clients on their options for recovery.

Rebecca has significant High Court litigation experience and also undertakes adjudication and arbitration work, as well as being adept in alternative dispute resolution procedures such as mediation and expert determination.

Some examples of the work that Rebecca has recently undertaken include:

  • JCT CIMAR arbitration on behalf of a large national social housing client against a leading UK construction and infrastructure services company for a claim in the region of £15m, relating to external wall safety and other latent defects.
  • Multi-party TCC litigation and arbitration, stemming from bespoke construction and NEC3 contracts, relating to subsidence at a location in the North-East.
  • Advising a Real Estate developer in respect of several apartment blocks with external wall cladding issues whose remediation costs are in excess of £12m.
  • Advising a German client on its disputes with the contractor relating to the construction of a £50m bottling plant in the UK.
  • Assisting a client in relation to resisting enforcement of an Adjudicator's decision and separate proceedings challenging the validity of the Payment Application used by the contractor in the adjudication.
