It has been through the firm’s efforts to promote the concept of sustainability that I have learned that there are so many small things I can do on a day-to-day basis to live more sustainably and the positive impact that this can have over time.

Helping us all to fully embrace emission-cutting initiatives, the firm introduced TLT World. Under the pillar of sustainable travel, encouraging this fully flexible approach to working allows us to minimise carbon-heavy commutes. We have also launched a successful cycle-to-work scheme and become one of the only legal firms to pioneer a green car scheme.

Looking at the broader picture, I am really proud of the way our people across all national offices have risen to the challenges of the past two years. To have adapted the way we did as a firm, maintained the culture whilst working from living rooms, kitchens and bedrooms and supported each other during that period is something we should all be proud of. Hopefully we do all feel proud when we look back and consider what we collectively achieved during this period.

I’m really proud to work for a firm that places trust in its employees and remains focused on the output, rather than obsessing with being sat in the same place for 8 hours a day. I know I’m much happier, and do feel quite fortunate to be in the position I am. I can’t really imagine how I might make full time working, with two children and all the things that comes with that, work for my family and me personally if we didn’t have the flexibility we’ve been offered with TLT World.

Working around school holidays, I try to get into the office once or twice a week because as much as I love working from home, I love being in the office as well. There is nothing better than face to face, informal chats we miss out on when we aren't in the office!
