Caitriona is experienced in advising insolvency practitioners, banks and other lenders, companies and their directors, on a wide range of restructuring and insolvency matters.
Since qualifying in 2010 Caitriona has advised clients on all aspects of contentious and non-contentious insolvency matters, both corporate and personal. She has advised, or is currently acting for, the majority of Northern Ireland’s leading insolvency practitioners, as well as regional IPs, in their capacities as Trustee in Bankruptcy, Administrator, Liquidator and Supervisors of Company Voluntary Arrangements. She advises local and national banks and other lenders on their enforcement and recovery options in NI.
Caitriona obtained a Distinction in the Certificate of Proficiency in Insolvency (CPI) Exam in 2013.
She continues to be ranked as a “Next Generation Partner” in The Legal 500 and a “Star Associate” by Chambers and Partners.

- Acting on behalf of a Trustee in Bankruptcy of a bankrupt, a former local businessman: Investigations into the bankruptcy estate identified a number of adjustable transactions. Caitriona has acted on behalf of the Trustee in successfully overturning these transactions in both NI and the USA, resulting in realisations for the bankruptcy estate in the sum of circa £1.5million
- Reviewing security and advising on enforcement options for a national lender relating to a well-known restaurant business
- Advising a national lender in respect of enforcement and recovery options relating to an individual borrower’s shortfall liability
- Acting on behalf of Liquidator of a Company: the Liquidator initially disclaimed their interest in the land however the land later became subject to a High Court adverse possession challenge by two other parties on the basis that it was allegedly a valuable ransom strip.
