Caroline advises on a number of private client matters including succession planning, Wills, Trusts, Lasting Powers of Attorneys, registration of existing Enduring Powers of Attorneys, and Court of Protection applications for Deputyship orders for property and financial affairs.

She is experienced in considering the wider picture, including tax implications and has a particular interest in vulnerable client matters.

Full member of Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioners (STEP) having attained their Diploma in Advising Vulnerable Clients with distinction.

Full accredited member of Association of Lifetime Lawyers (formerly known as Solicitors for the Elderly) since December 2010.

Experience

  • Administered a recognised musician’s estate and subsequently advised their spouse on how to structure their Will to ensure protection of the intellectual property for future generations. Following their death dealt with the spouse’s estate and set up the Will Trust dealing with the Intellectual Property.
  • Worked with a team of tax advisors and accountants to advise a farming family on the creation of a trust of agricultural property to make best use of Inheritance Tax and Capital Gains Tax reliefs.
  • Had a Will challenged in the High Court on the grounds of undue influence, which was upheld by the Judge as being valid.
