Claire is a legal director in the Banking and Financial Services Litigation team. 

She acts for banks and financial services clients on a wide range of disputes, in particular defending mis-selling and negligence claims in relation to complex financial products, and high value multi-jurisdictional recoveries actions.  Claire is also very experienced in pursuing professional negligence claims, including against property valuers, project monitors, insurance brokers and solicitors.

Claire trained at TLT qualifying in 2010 and has undertaken 2 secondments at a major UK clearing bank.

Claire has been recognised by Legal 500 as a key lawyer in TLT’s professional negligence practice.

Experience

  • Defending a UK private bank in group actions brought by high profile individuals alleging negligent tax advice and mis-selling in connection with tax mitigation and property investment schemes.  These claims formed part of the ‘Ingenious litigation’, one of The Lawyer’s Top 20 cases of 2018.
  • Acting for a UK clearing bank in a high value recoveries action arising out of aircraft financing, involving international guarantors including a member of a Middle Eastern royal family.
  • Advising an IFA in relation to a potential negligence claim against its insurance broker arising out of a past business review.
