Damien is a Partner in TLT’s Pensions and Incentives team.  

He advises employers and pension scheme trustees on a wide range of pensions law issues.

Damien’s experience includes advising on changes to defined benefit pension schemes, arrangements for managing the liabilities of such schemes and automatic enrolment. He has experience of advising on pensions issues that affect corporate reorganisations, acquisitions and disposals. He also advises on the pensions aspects of public sector outsourcings, where transferring employees are members of public sector pension schemes.

He has expertise in relation to pension investments, including advising on fiduciary management agreements and custody agreements. He has recently advised on a pooled Local Government Pension Scheme investment through an authorised contractual scheme.

Damien specialises in SIPP and SSAS schemes.  He advises providers, trustees and scheme administrators on HMRC pensions tax, pensions law and regulatory compliance.  He drafts scheme documentation to establish and govern SIPPs and SSASs.

Damien acts for clients in the social housing sector and advises on pension issues where social housing providers merge.  

Damien is a member of the Association of Pension Lawyers and is on the North West committee of The Society of Pension Professionals. He is recognised as an “Associate to watch” for Pensions in Chambers UK, a guide to the legal profession.
