He specialises in commercial contracts and in providing legal advice on intellectual property rights, digital content, consumer law and telecoms regulation.
Daniel joined TLT from BT, where as Head of Consumer Law he advised on the launch of BT Sport, BT TV on Youview, and BT Mobile. He has extensive experience in advising on a wide range of digital platforms and was responsible for advising on all consumer-facing services and products.
Daniel led on a number of strategic contract negotiations for BT. He frequently advised on IT procurement agreements for a range of products and services and completed a secondment in the major transactions team, advising on large scale and complex IT/IP agreements, outsourcing contracts and telecoms specific offnet deals, negotiating contracts with global communications providers.
Daniel is acknowledged as one of the leading influences on the developing law on digital content, having set up the ISP forum to consult with government on the Digital Content provisions contained within the Consumer Rights Act. Daniel co-authored Blackstone's Guide to the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (OUP, 2016).
Prior to joining BT in 2000, Daniel worked at Freshfields and completed Pupillage at Cloisters in 1996.
