Julie specialises in intellectual property, commercial contracts (including terms and conditions, technology agreements, distribution agreements and data sharing agreements), data protection and early-stage investments.

She has a particular interest in life sciences given her PhD in molecular biology.

Julie’s practice includes providing advice on the UK GDPR, advising clients (investors and companies) with regard to equity investments and ensuring her clients receive expert advice with regard to protecting and commercialising their intellectual property.

Julie’s scientific background is advantageous when advising on intellectual property related contracts such as licensing and collaboration agreements. Ensuring that intellectual property assets are protected in transactions is essential for technology clients.

Julie was seconded to the University of Edinburgh and Historic Environment Scotland. As such she has a particular expertise in dealing with public sector contracts.
