Philip is a partner in the Corporate team, acting on all aspects of mergers and acquisitions, with a particular focus on private equity transactions, acting for both private equity houses on executing their investments and managing their portfolio companies, as well as advising companies and management teams during new investments.

Philip works with clients across a number of sectors and is able to draw on his significant practical experience gained spending time on secondment at AnaCap Financial Partners, a private equity fund, and CDC Group plc, the UK’s development finance institution. 

Philip is independently recognised in Chambers & Partners as an “Up and Coming” lawyer and has also been named as a “Next Generation Partner” in The Legal 500, with clients describing him as “an outstanding, commercially astute young partner” and "a rising star: bright, thorough, responsive and calm”.

  • advising Akoni Holdings on the sale of Akoni Hub, an FCA-regulated cash management platform, to Stubben Edge, an adviser-focused InsurTech.
  • advising the vendors of a digital learning services provider on the sale to a leading cybersecurity and IT training provider backed by a US-based private equity house.
  • advising an award-winning private equity house on a number of investments (with values ranging from £10m to £46.5m) across a range of sectors including business services, healthcare and utilities.
  • advising Sun Capital Partners on its acquisition of Complete Cover Group, a leading non-standard insurance group, alongside its existing management team from Darwin Private Equity.
