He has also handled a number of applications for interim relief, including those relating restrictive covenants and breach of confidence, as well as other urgent remedies to protect clients’ interests.

Twm has experience of a range of alternative dispute resolution procedures, including mediation and adjudication, and regularly advises clients on resolving disputes without the need for litigation. Alongside this, Twm undertakes complex advisory work for clients, often in the context of anticipated or threatened litigation, in order to inform strategy and achieve commercial solutions to legal disputes.

Experience

  • Advising clients in the food & drink, energy and pharmaceutical sectors on steps to protect their businesses from the impact of unlawful protests, including by obtaining injunctive relief.

  • Acting for liquidators in connection with various claims arising from a multi-million pound VAT fraud, involving applications for freezing orders and related relief, as well as proceedings to recover assets across a number of foreign jurisdictions.

  • Pursuing a professional negligence claim against financial advisers who introduced their clients to disguised remuneration schemes which were subsequently challenged by HMRC, resulting in tax liabilities of several millions of pounds.

  • Defending a High Court claim arising out of a supply chain dispute within the aerospace industry.

  • Acting for a minority shareholder in a dispute involving allegations of unfair prejudice, which was resolved at mediation through the sale of shares and distribution of company assets.

  • Representing a claimant in a follow-on damages claim before the Competition Appeal Tribunal arising out of the European truck cartel.
