Chat GPT is now banned in Italy – the first national regulator to have made such a move in Europe against Chat GPT. The Italian authorities have cited a potential breach of the GDPR as justification. In contrast, the British Government has published a white paper to “drive responsible innovation and maintain public trust in this revolutionary technology”. But how do we balance public trust while driving innovation when regulating AI?
We’re hosting a roundtable event where we’ll be joined by Norman Lewis, Managing Director of Futures-Diagnosis Ltd. Throughout his career Norman has looked to challenge perceptions, overcome market barriers and drive growth by bringing disruptive and innovative technologies to market. Norman will be discussing whether the innovation needed to maintain dynamism in the development of AI will be allowed to happen, or if we are in danger of allowing the pre-cautionary principle being used to over regulate such innovation. Or put more simply “How would you regulate Chat GPT?”
Norman will be joined by our digital experts Juliet Mason, Daniel Lloyd and Emma Erskine Fox as they discuss recent legislative proposals on how to regulate AI in the EU and the UK, and the best approaches to adopt.
This roundtable is of interest to in-house counsel and lawyers, commercial, data and IT decision makers and all senior c-suite roles who operate and work in the digital and fintech sectors. Please register using the button below.
