TLT has featured in The Times’ prestigious Best Law Firms 2025 Special Report, singling out the firm as one of the best in the UK. This is the seventh consecutive year TLT has been included in the list.

The firm has been commended for commercial dispute resolution; commercial property and employment cementing its leading position across these practice areas. The Times Best Law Firms list is compiled by The Times and independent market research company Statista based on a survey of over 4,000 solicitors and barristers in England and Wales, and lists the top 250 legal practices for business, public and private-client law in England and Wales and the top 20 in Scotland.

The announcement follows TLT’s success in the recent legal directories Chambers and Partners UK 2025 and Legal 500 UK, including achieving top tier rankings in the three practice areas referenced in The Times listing.

Last month, TLT’s Employment and Real Estate: up to £10m practices were ranked Band 1 in the prestigious Chambers and Partners UK rankings, and the firm grew its ranking in Commercial Litigation in the Legal 500 UK rankings. Individual lawyers were also recognised in the rankings including two partners in the commercial litigation team - Julien Luke featured in the Hall of Fame category and Victoria Mabbett recognised for the first time in the Next Generation Partner category.

In addition to the practice areas TLT’s work advising Allied Irish Bank on a long-term refinancing package for the Northern Ireland-based property development and investment company MRP and its construction partner, McAleer and Rushe has been highlighted in the listing. The firm’s expertise in employee ownership trusts (EOT) also stood out, referencing supporting Glasgow-based tour operator McKinlay Kidd on its sale to an EOT.

Managing Partner John Wood said: “Being included in The Times Best Law Firm list is a great endorsement for TLT, made even more impactful by the fact that it is decided by our peers in the legal industry. We have enjoyed a decade of growth resulting from our strategy of, developing our reach locally, nationally and internationally whilst using the latest innovative technology, and delivering a progressive workplace agenda with market-leading sustainability.

“We are proud to be included in the list for the seventh consecutive year, an achievement that would not be possible without the ongoing support of our clients and the dedication of all who work at TLT.”

The news follows a successful year, in which TLT has grown revenue by 12% to £174m in 2023/2024. It also saw TLT expand its national footprint following the opening of its new office in Birmingham in September 2023.
