Law firm TLT has advised architecture firm Eòlas Architects on its transition to Employee Ownership.
Eòlas Architects, based in Glasgow and Aberfeldy, is a highly experienced practice, that specialises in providing a range of bespoke, sustainable builds for a range of clients in the housing, agricultural buildings, hotel, community spaces, energy provision, healthcare and education sectors.
The move to employee ownership, which comes as the company celebrates its 13th birthday, will enhance co-operation and resilience, reflecting a broader trend particularly prominent in the architectural sector.
TLT provided legal advice on all aspects of the creation of the employee ownership trust and the sale of shares. The deal was led by corporate partner Douglas Roberts and managed by senior associate Nimarta Cheema, with support from corporate associate Faye Saunders.
Rob Macpherson, founder and director of the Eòlas Architects said: “The sale to an Employee Ownership Trust is an effective way of rewarding our employees for their loyalty and hard work over the past 13 years. I look forward to continuing to work alongside them, as we deliver the excellent service our clients have come to expect from us. We’re extremely grateful to the team at TLT who shared their employee ownership experience with us and helped us implement the employee ownership model successfully. We are very thankful for their advice and support.”
Nimarta Cheema, senior associate in the corporate team added: “EOTs are becoming an increasingly popular succession choice, particularly in the architectural space, and it was a pleasure working alongside the Eòlas team to help them complete this important transition. ”
