National law firm TLT has acted for the shareholders of First Rescue Training and Supplies Ltd, a UK leading online retailer of defibrillators, in connection with the sale of the company to Safe Life, strengthening the firm’s position as an expert in M&A deals.

Safe Life is a Stockholm-based provider of life saving solutions with a portfolio of companies across Europe and North America. Based in Selby, North Yorkshire, First Rescue offers a selection of automated external defibrillators (AEDs), along with a variety of associated products.

The acquisition will allow Safe Life to continue its strategy of growth, cementing its position as a leading provider of AEDs in North America and Europe.

TLT provided legal advice on all aspects of the sale. The deal was led by corporate partner Ian Roberts, with support from Seraphina Wilkins-Tolliday, James Pike and Mudassar Iqbal from the corporate team. The transaction also involved cross-practice expertise with support from the firm’s tax, employment, intellectual property and banking teams.

TLT also utilised its network of international firms to engage with Magnusson for Swedish law advice as part of the transaction.

Craig Ward, founder and CEO at First Rescue said: “First Rescue has a bright future with Safe Life. The acquisition will further enable the growth of the business, saving even more lives in the UK. TLT were excellent throughout the process, providing expert guidance on all aspects of the sale – from the initial discussions, through due diligence and completing the transaction – their process has been faultless.”

Ian Roberts, corporate partner at TLT added: “The shareholders of First Rescue have built a strong business, which is making a huge difference to people. The deal reflects the slight pick-up we have seen since the start of 2024, which we’re expecting to see continue throughout the year.”

The shareholders of First Rescue were also advised by Jay Singh, Corporate Finance Director at KBS Corporate Finance.
