Now in their 27th edition, the annual Legal Business Awards celebrate the outstanding achievements from the best in the legal industry.
The Legal Technology Team of the Year category recognises the law firms, in-house teams and chambers that have pushed through innovation and secured competitive advantage for their business. Nominees were judged on a range of criteria, such as taking fresh approaches in creating and delivering legal products, including utilising technology and new business models.
TLT and Vodafone were singled out for the development and launch of the Dawn Raid Solution, an interactive digital simulation of a dawn raid. The solution was created by TLT’s award-winning FutureLaw and Competition teams for Vodafone’s competition compliance programme, which ensures all employees are prepared for a dawn raid. Harnessing technology to produce the training tool has had a measurable impact on user engagement at Vodafone.
Thomas Stone, senior legal technologist at TLT commented: “It is an honour to have been named the Technology Team of the Year at the Legal Business Awards, together with our colleagues at Vodafone. The recognition reflects the hard-work and determination everyone at TLT invests into going the extra mile for our clients. It’s also a testament to how we work in partnership with our clients, to understand their needs and ensure we develop tailor-made solutions to support their requirements.”
Richard Collie, managing associate at TLT said: “The dawn raid tech solution we developed with Vodafone is a perfect example of what we can achieve when TLT’s lawyers think outside the box and explore the ‘art of the possible’ by working collaboratively with FutureLaw and our clients. This reward for TLT’s brilliant legal technologists is so well deserved. They really do have the ability to turbo charge our advice to provide the best support for our clients.”
Karen Thorpe, head of legal at Vodafone UK commented: “We are very proud to have received this award jointly with TLT. Our collaboration with TLT on this interactive technology has enabled us to deliver critical training to the business in an engaging format, and demonstrates our commitment to innovation to drive business value.”
The news comes shortly after TLT was ranked as one of Europe’s most innovative law firms by the FT, and after having been commended in the ‘innovation in regulatory solutions’ category at the prestigious Financial Times Innovative Lawyers Europe Awards 2024. It also follows TLT’s win last year at the Legal Business awards for Competition Team of the Year.
