TLT continues real estate expansion in Scotland

TLT has continued the rapid growth of its real estate team in Scotland with the appointment of Joanna Hamilton as legal director and Stephanie Hands as solicitor.

Joanna joins TLT as a highly experienced real estate lawyer. Her experience in advising businesses - notably developers, utilities and energy firms - on a wide range of matters supports TLT’s UK-wide real estate offering as well as the continued growth of the firm's real estate practice in Scotland in recent months. She has previously held roles at Shepherd & Wedderburn and before that, DWF.

Stephanie specialises in commercial property transactions and joins TLT from Miller Samuel Hill Brown where she acted for a variety of commercial property clients.

The appointments represent a further step in TLT’s UK-wide real estate growth strategy and ambitious growth plans in Scotland. They follow TLT's acquisition of Glasgow-based commercial real estate firm Leslie Wolfson & Co, which saw acclaimed lawyers Howard Beach, Andrew McCowan and Donna Strong join as partners in October. Other recent appointments include clean energy real estate partner Nick Shenken from Pinsent Masons and real estate associate Pamela Sealey.

Kenneth Meldrum, real estate partner at TLT, comments: “The appointment of Joanna and Stephanie is another great development for our UK-wide real estate team and particularly in Scotland. We have ambitious plans to grow the team in Scotland and to bring our strength in depth to clients across a wide range of specialist needs, including in key markets such as the clean energy sector. Joanna and Stephanie have a wide range of experience and it's fantastic to see such well-regarded experts wanting to further their careers at TLT."

Joanna Hamilton, legal director at TLT, says: “I am especially pleased to be joining TLT at such an exciting time, as it continues to grow in Scotland and bring an expanding list of capabilities to its real estate clients. The Scotland real estate team is backed by the strength of a leading UK-wide team and the firm acts for a large variety of substantial commercial property clients. TLT has rightly ambitious plans for growth and I am looking forward to working with the rest of the team."

Stephanie Hands, solicitor at TLT, says: “TLT is a clear leader in real estate and clean energy and has a clear vision for growth and innovation. I am looking forward to supporting our clients with a wide range of needs and being part of the vibrant and talented team."
