UK law firm TLT has been ranked in 69 submission areas across England & Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland in the Legal 500 UK rankings 2022 – an independent guide to the legal sector.

The firm also grew its Tier 1 rankings, recognising its leading reputation in banking and finance; employment; competition and EU law; restructuring and insolvency; regulatory; technology and communications; licensing; pensions; tax; commercial; and corporate.

11 TLT lawyers were recognised in the top ‘Hall of Fame’ category in the individual rankings, including James Touzel, head of digital and TLT’s FutureLaw team, who joined this elite group this year.

A further 28 lawyers were ranked as “Leading Individuals”, including four new entries: Chris Owen, Claire Graham, Esther Smith and Graham Walters. 12 lawyers were named a “Next Generation Partner”, including newly ranked Kanika Kitchlu-Connolly and Mark Braude. Nine lawyers were named a “Rising Star”, with Ainslie Benzie and Eoin Devlin joining this list for the first time.

TLT reported an 11% increase in turnover to hit £110m in 2020/21 as it launched an ambitious new strategy to 2025. The four-year roadmap will see the firm continue to invest in its seven priority sectors: clean energy; digital; financial services; leisure, food & drink; public sector; real estate; and retail & consumer goods, as well as initiatives such as its FutureLaw innovation programme.

Legal 500 UK is an annual guide to the UK legal sector and used by buyers of legal services. It ranks law firms and lawyers across legal specialisms and geographic regions, identifying the most highly respected legal professionals in their areas of expertise.
