Hosted by Global Legal Post, the inaugural awards recognise the law firms, individuals and legal teams who are making exceptional contributions to help to improve diversity and inclusivity in the UK legal profession.
TLT was recognised in this category for its outstanding commitment and dedication to tackling climate change, exemplified throughout a series of targeted initiatives launched throughout the year. As a firm that’s been a globally leading adviser to the future energy market for more than two decades and therefore has a unique perspective and understanding of the climate emergency, TLT are demonstrating best practice and setting a “gold standard” for achieving net zero on a national scale in the future.
Maria Connolly, head of future energy and real estate at TLT commented: “In September 2022, Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) approved our emissions reduction targets marking a monumental step forward for TLT in terms of validating our sustainability initiative and positioning our firm as a pioneer in this area.
“As one of our core strategic pillars, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do at TLT. Climate change is having a devastating impact on people, planet and communities. As a major business and employer, we have a responsibility to reduce our emissions as quickly as possible.
“It’s an honour to have our efforts recognised at the Women and Diversity in Law Awards. We’re extremely proud of everything we’ve achieved at TLT both in terms of educating our people about sustainability, as well as having a positive impact on our local communities.”
