TLT has been ‘highly commended’ by the judges of the Legal Business Awards 2021 in the prestigious Law Firm of the Year category.

The category recognises firms that have “taken the market by storm” in 2020 and “achieved more than their direct competitors and peers”. The judges consider a range of factors including the launch of practice areas, expansion into new markets, client wins, financial performance and recruitment.

TLT’s recognition reflects its significant growth and expansion in recent years, including an 11% increase in turnover to hit £110m in 2020/21 following a 13% rise to £98.8m in 2019/20.

TLT also notably delivered on its strategy to support clients internationally through forming new strategic alliances and partnerships in 2020 – exemplified in new relationships with Netherlands firm Holla Advocaten and Belgium firm GSJ advocaten.

The award also recognises TLT’s appointment to a number of client panels including Sainsbury’s, BT, Anglian Water, North West Legal Consortium, Sports & Arts Legal Panel, the UK’s government’s post-Brexit trade law panel and the Scottish Police Authority; and its role as trusted strategic and legal adviser on several industry-defining transactions as a result of the pandemic.

John Wood, managing partner at TLT, comments: “It’s great to see TLT highly commended in the fiercely competitive Law Firm of the Year category at the Legal Business Awards.

“We’re taking significant strides forward and it’s pleasing to see further market recognition of our progress as we continue to expand and develop our service offering for clients.

“All of our investments – in our people, international networks, processes and technologies – are with the client and the future in mind. Our work over the past year, from important panel wins to advising on key, industry-shaping transactions, is testament to the fantastic reputation of the team.”
