TLT has been shortlisted for the title of UK Law Firm of the Year by the Chambers Europe Awards, celebrating the firm’s outstanding legal work, impressive strategic growth and excellence in client service over the last twelve months.

The prestigious Chambers Europe Awards 2023 recognise the first-in-class work of national and international law firms in Europe based on the research for the recent edition of Chambers Europe Guide. Chambers Europe ranks the leading lawyers and law firms across Europe, provide insights, and market intelligence for law firm clients.

TLT’s nomination follows a record year for the firm in terms of financial success – achieving £144m turnover in 2021 / 2022 – as well as advancing its people-first and sustainability initiatives, which have cemented the firm’s position as one of the most progressive in the UK.

Stand-out corporate deals have included advising on the £7m sale of Barburrito to The Restaurant Group, LDC on its investment in Cakesmiths, the £59m sale of UK-based Storagebase to South African headquartered self-storage group Storage King, and Maven on its investment into virtual reality developer XR Games.

Maintaining TLT’s commitment to invest in its people nationwide, the firm has secured two new flagship sustainable office spaces, Cadworks in Glasgow and Eden in Manchester. Both are designed to support agile working, whilst furthering the firm’s sustainability goals. As well as taking on these spaces, TLT has cemented its status as a responsible business by applying and securing ISO 1400:2015 and achieving approval from the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) for the firm’s 2040 net zero targets.

TLT has continued to invest in resource, recruiting seven partners in the last year to develop the firm’s regional, national and international reach. The firm has taken progressive steps in its journey to create a more inclusive and diverse working environment with a fully flexible working approach, TLT World. This has included introducing a new family friendly program and a new SQE qualification programme in partnership with BPP university.

John Wood, managing partner at TLT said: “We’re delighted to have been nominated for UK Law Firm of the Year at the Chambers Europe Awards. Having broken financial records, exceeded targets, emphasised sustainability and ensured progressive initiatives, it’s been an outstanding year. In all our work, we’ve kept our people and clients at the forefront. We’re honoured to have been shortlisted for this prestigious award, which is a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone at TLT.”
