TLT’s head of public inquiries and public law Zaqia Rashid has been nominated in the “Professions” category at the Asian Women of Achievement Awards.
The annual awards aim to celebrate the achievements of Asian women across the UK and across industries, who are making valuable contributions to British life.
The “Professions” category recognises women who are leading practitioners in a professional practice such as legal, accountancy and medicine. TLT were pleased to be asked to nominate Zaqia by Pinky Lilani CBE DL, Chairman of the awards.
Zaqia was acknowledged for her phenomenal successes in growing TLT’s public inquiries and public law team from a standing start in November 2021 to having over 170 members. Zaqia’s commitment and dedication to inclusivity and diversity, and fostering a culture where colleagues feel they can bring their whole selves to work, were also recognised.
Zaqia commented: “It’s an honour to have been shortlisted in these awards alongside so many other talented Asian women who are making a difference and encouraging diversity and inclusivity across the UK’s industries and societies. A huge thank you to my team without whom these achievements would not be possible.”
Winners will be announced at a ceremony taking place on 8 June. Interviews for the awards will take place on 24 April 2024.
