National law firm TLT has partnered with Will Aid 2024, supporting the local community in the South West and improving access to will writing services in Bristol.

Will Aid is a collaboration between the legal profession and seven UK charities including Age UK, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, NSPCC, Save the Children, SCIAF (Scotland), and Trócaire (N. Ireland). In total, Will Aid has raised more than £24 million in donations, and many millions more in pledged legacies, for its partner charities since it launched in 1988.

TLT is taking part in Will Aid for the second consecutive year, with members of the trust and estates team volunteering their time and waiving will writing fees, in exchange for a suggested charitable donation. Last year, the firm received 19 instructions and raised £710 for Will Aid’s charity partners.

Lisa Whelan, senior associate in the trusts and estates team said: “It’s great to be returning to work with Will Aid in 2024. A survey conducted this year has revealed that 67% of UK adults either don’t have a Will or have one that’s out of date and are exposing their loved ones to the possibility of inheritance trouble.

“As well as providing important legal support to our community and money to Will Aid’s charity partners, participating in Will Aid also gives some of our more junior lawyers valuable experience in doing pro-bono work and writing wills."
