The nomination recognises TLT’s trainee recruitment and future talent campaign, a project that was created in response to the unprecedented challenges wrought by the pandemic. The project provided a creative solution to not only avoid disruption to the learning and development of its existing trainee solicitors, but also drive further recruitment to ensure a continued flow of talent into the business.
The project included the launch of a ‘Future Talent’ webinar series, which allowed the firm to showcase its practice areas and regional offices to potential applicants, giving them a taste of trainee life at TLT. In addition, the firm partnered with TopScore to create virtual assessment software which allowed candidates and assessors to meet through video call, with the addition of a lobby area so candidates could interact with current trainees and ask questions.
TLT recognised the importance of continuing its vacation scheme, so took the experience online with the creation of a virtual scheme. Through this, candidates were able to attend presentations hosted by the firm’s managing partner and ED&I manager, and were encouraged to network with people across the business in order to create a fully-formed view of TLT’s ambition and vision.
Ed Fiddick, partner and training principal at TLT, says:
“The pandemic presented a range of challenges for the firm, not least how to implement a solution for our trainees and potential recruits in a very short timeframe. The candidate experience is really important to us, and our approach has been met with positive feedback and high levels of commitment from all involved.
“The People in Law nomination recognises the hard work and dedication of the firm’s Future Talent team who have shown fantastic commitment to the development of both current and future trainees, despite the challenges of the last year.”
This year's People in Law Awards will take place virtually on Thursday 10 June.
