TLT shortlisted for two awards at The Lawyer Awards 2023

The Lawyer Awards recognise and celebrate the outstanding work of lawyers, law firms and in-house lawyers. 

TLT’s nomination for sustainability initiative of the year follows the firm’s 2022 commitment to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2040 (well ahead of the UK’s 2050 target), which was verified under the Science Based Targets initiative’s (SBTi) new Corporate Net-Zero Standard. This marks a monumental step in TLT’s comprehensive decarbonisation strategy, aligning the target with halting global temperature rise to 1.5°C, to avoid the most significant effects of climate breakdown (with many companies still only aiming for 2°C).

The competition and regulatory team of the year shortlisting reflects the team’s work - alongside Linklaters (our submission partner), Monckton chambers, Oxera economists and the in-house team - in the Competition Appeal Tribunal on behalf of the UK’s leading price comparison website, ComparetheMarket.com.  This resulted in the successful appeal of an infringement decision and £17.9 million fine imposed by the CMA, as well as the defence of a multi-hundred million pound follow-on collective damages claim.
