TLT shortlisted in two categories for this year's People in Law Awards

This year, TLT has been nominated for two categories: Excellence in Talent Management and Learning & Development and Senior HR Ally.

The People in Law Awards recognises the achievements of firms in the UK legal sector that are leading the way when it comes to people management.

The firm was nominated in the Excellence in Talent Management category for the development and implementation of a new talent nurturing programme, the New Promotions Pathway. The Pathway, which overhauled TLT’s talent development process so it better aligned with the firm’s core principles, has been nominated as one of the best examples of talent management across the UK legal sector.

The Pathway was a response to the rapid growth the firm has undergone in the last five years. It looked to create a more targeted and robust approach to talent management, and build on TLT’s strong record of internal promotions and talent development strategy. The new programme is  delivering an industry-leading process that fosters inclusivity, ambition and accurate benchmarking.

The firm’s second nomination, in the Senior HR Ally category, relates to the work Andrew Webber has spearheaded as TLT’s inaugural Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) Champion. The award celebrates the positive contribution an individual outside of HR has made to the way a firm manages people. Andrew has been instrumental in listening to others, building trust, amplifying unheard voices and galvanising people into action.

An example of the positive influence Andrew has had throughout the organisation is his leadership in the root cause analysis into D&I that took place in 2019. This process helped identify the areas of the firm’s strengths and weaknesses when it came to representation, and develop strategic priorities and actions for moving forward.

As a result of Andrew’s passion, over 70% of TLT employees took part in focus groups and one-on-one interviews, giving the firm unprecedented insight on its approach to D&I. The strategy Andrew has helped create will allow the firm to focus on improving its culture further and growing the opportunities for personal and professional development.

This year’s event will take place virtually on Thursday 11 June.
