TLT strengthens financial services disputes practice with major team hire
TLT has hired of a 12-strong financial services disputes and investigations team to its London office, significantly deepening its already extensive expertise in financial services disputes and regulation across the UK.
The team – including partners Clare Stothard and Steven Mills, as well as seven additional fee-earners and professional support staff – joins from Dentons.
Clare Stothard is a highly regarded and highly ranked disputes expert with a wide-ranging and impressive track record in retail and investment banking litigation. Prior to joining Dentons in 2016, she was a co-founder and leader of the banking and finance litigation group at Matthew Arnold & Baldwin (MAB), which gained a national reputation and won numerous awards.
She is hugely experienced in dealing with mis-selling allegations relating to various banking products, and also brings to bear significant experience regarding regulatory compliance and investigations.
Steven Mills is top ranked by Chambers for his banking disputes resolution work, which covers experience in a wide range of disputes relating to retail and investment banking, as well as enforcement issues. His expertise also covers regulatory compliance and investigations. He was also co-founder and leader of the banking and finance litigation group at MAB.
Already a major national player, TLT’s financial services team advises major UK banks and building societies; challenger and digital banks; fintechs; investment firms; international banks; and payment service providers. The hires support TLT’s strategy to consolidate its position as a leading firm in the financial services market and to grow its base in London, in order to meet the needs of clients as they face challenging market conditions and an ever more complex regulatory environment.
A specialist mortgage enforcement and lending services team will also join TLT from Dentons early next year.
