National law firm TLT has enhanced its real estate practice with the appointment of experienced real estate lawyer Kay Desai as partner. Kay will be based in TLT’s Birmingham office.
Kay joins TLT from Gowling WLG UK (LLP), where she advised on a large number of significant and complex commercial real estate deals. Kay specialises in advising corporate occupiers in all sectors including retail and leisure, logistics, automotive, life sciences, manufacturing and the public sector in acquiring, disposing and managing various types of corporate space from offices to warehouses, retail units to leisure accommodation and everything in between.
Kay is regarded as a ‘go-to’ transactional expert in the real estate arena, known for having an unrivalled understanding of the commercial drivers behind transactions, allowing her to work hand-in-hand with clients to achieve their objectives.
Kay’s experience has included acting for a wide range of UK and international businesses. Some of her recent work has included advising Young & Co’s Brewery PLC on the disposal of its tenanted pub estate comprising 53 pubs; acting for a major online furniture retailer in connection with acquiring a number of developed and pre-developed warehouses with rents in excess of £3 million; advising on the sale of a manufacturing plant for an international plant based dairy company; and acquiring new head office premises for The Net-a-Porter Group Limited.
Boasting in-depth knowledge and understanding of all elements of the commercial real estate transactional space, Kay is uniquely placed to provide commercial property advice to clients throughout the UK.
At TLT, Kay will join the national real estate group, further expanding the breadth of service the firm offers clients in this practice area across the UK.
