This year, TLT was proud to support two Pride events – Bristol and Manchester.
Pride is an opportunity for us to celebrate and support the LGBT+ community, demonstrating allyship and promoting our zero-tolerance approach to hate. Being open and inclusive is one of our core values – everyone’s input and individuality matters, and everyone should feel comfortable to be themselves, whether at work or in the community.
At the end of August, over 65 TLT colleagues, clients, friends, and family members came together in Manchester for this year’s Pride parade.
This year’s Manchester Pride theme was ‘Queerly Beloved’, commemorating the tenth anniversary of marriage equality in England and Wales – so it was the perfect opportunity to pay homage to the power of love in all its forms. Glittered up and ready to go, we were proud to stand in solidarity with the LGBT+ community.
Earlier this summer, colleagues from across Bristol came together to support Bristol Pride for the second year running. With our LGBT+ network volunteers at the helm of our stall on The Downs, we were pleased to meet so many members of the public to highlight how we support LGBT+ inclusion – and bring the fun and games. From Spin the Wheel to Giant Connect 4 – and a lot of sweet treats! – it was great to play an important role in such a pivotal community event.
Richard Cross, knowledge lawyer, volunteered at this year's Bristol Pride: “It was so heartening to see such a wide variety of people of different genders and sexual orientations, all out to have a great time and coming together to put aside their day-to-day worries for a few hours and celebrate what it means to live life and be who they are.”
Our risk director and LGBT+ Network sponsor, Jon Green, said: “It was a joy to see such support for the LGBT+ community this year. The atmosphere at both Bristol and Manchester was incredible and testament to great work by the organisers, our volunteers and everyone who took part to make the days memorable. I was very proud to be part of this year’s summer of Pride and reaffirm TLT’s position as an LGBT+ inclusive employer.”
Thank you to our volunteers and all those from across TLT and our communities who helped to make this such a memorable and joyful summer of Pride. As a Gold Award-winning and Stonewall Top 100 Employer, LGBT+ inclusivity is central to our values and our actions.
