We're delighted to launch the next session in our series of HR Leaders’ Exchange, where we tackle key strategic issues, faced by Human Resources Directors and Leaders.

We will be bringing together HR leaders from across industries and sectors, so you can learn from your peers, debate current issues and explore different approaches together. We will start the session by watching a short video together featuring Ian Allen, HR Director & Employee Relations Director at Biffa, giving insights from his vast experience. TLT will provide a legal perspective and the knowledge we have gained from our wider client base and will lead the discussion which will follow Chatham House Rule.

What to expect

In our next virtual session we will be sharing our experiences of working with trade unions – what works well and what the biggest challenges are.

As well as discussing how working with a unionised workforce can impact on the approach to both strategic and day to day issues.

Themes likely to be discussed include:

  • Building effective working relationships with trade unions
  • Where the relationship can add value
  • Dealing with disputes
  • Working with a staff forum/works council
