Our responsibility
Our people trust us to deliver a workplace that is open and inclusive, where everyone is supported in their work, development and wellbeing.
We value fairness and respect, and we believe that varied perspectives bring creativity, and creativity solves problems. We know it’s our differences that help us to deliver innovative solutions for our clients.
In the past year...
We continue to be recognised for the inclusive and supportive workplace we’ve built – ranking in The Times Top 50 Employers for Gender Equality and Top 30 Employers for Working Families.
As part of our wellbeing efforts, we've trained line managers to equip them with the skills to better support colleagues through personal challenges. We also launched our ‘Breaking the Silence’ campaign to raise awareness of lesser-discussed mental health topics.
We’re opening doors to the legal profession through alternative career routes, apprenticeships and mentoring. We've launched a diversity access programme for early careers, have 47 solicitor apprentices and have had 10,800 student enrolments to date in our work experience programme.

We're minimising our adverse environmental impact, maximising our positive impact and reducing our greenhouse gas emissions to net-zero - by setting hard targets, promoting sustainable choices and collaborating with like-minded businesses to tackle environmental issues.
Our goal is to reach net-zero by 2040 with science-based targets that are ambitious, achievable, and industry-leading.
In the past year...
We’ve surpassed our near-term Science-Based Targets initiative-verified target ahead of schedule, with our Scope 1 and 2 emissions now 93% lower than they were in 2019. We continue to work hard to make a significant indent on our Scope 3 emissions, which were down 14% over the last year.
We’re investing in high-integrity carbon removals and our partnership with Belmont Estate is something we’re hugely proud of. It’s now supporting 425,000m2 of nature recovery through rewilding, rewetting and biodiversity enhancement.
We’ve also moved to a new location in Edinburgh, with low-energy, all-electric design, BREEAM Excellent rating, SKA Silver-certified fit out, and an A EPC rating.

Community is central to our people-first culture. By nurturing relationships with those who share our ambitions and values, together we can drive sustainable change.
We empower all colleagues to support the charities and causes that are close to them, recognising that passions are often individual. Our approach enables TLT to have a positive impact on the communities in which we operate, building resilience and helping to level the playing field.
We give individuals the opportunity and encouragement to generate change, whether that’s through participating in diversity events, fundraising for charity, volunteering or becoming actively involved in opening the legal industry to people from a diverse range of backgrounds.
Through paid volunteering leave, pro bono work and match funding, we make it easy for our colleagues to add value in their communities. This year, our colleagues gave 1,100+ hours in volunteering and donated over £30,000. As testament to this hard work, we’ve been upgraded from Silver to Gold for this year’s Payroll Giving Mark.
We’ve also strengthened our pro bono programme with Partner-level leads and local representatives coordinating efforts across offices. This year, 30 volunteers offered free legal advice at drop-in clinics including the South Westminster Legal Advice Centre and St Paul’s Advice Centre in Bristol.
We also have over £245,000 under management with the Quartet Foundation, who fund inclusive community development across the West of England.
