TLT celebrates year of outstanding success in Manchester following move to pioneering Eden office

Award-winning law firm TLT is celebrating a year since moving to Eden in Salford - one of the UKs most sustainable office buildings.

Eden has played a key role in driving TLTs growth in Manchester, while supporting the firms sustainability strategy and its market-leading approach to people and culture, providing an environment that reflects its commitment to ESG, employee wellbeing and flexibility.

This period has been marked by ongoing strategic growth with headcount increasing by 30% to 256 colleagues and TLT making a series of high-profile lateral hires, with a particular focus on growing its planning, infrastructure and corporate practices. Last year saw the appointment of corporate partners Paul Keohane and Victoria Zivkovic who have joined TLTs national Corporate team, alongside infrastructure specialist Alex Murdie to its Projects, Infrastructure and Construction (PIC) team.

The Manchester team has acted on high-profile deals such as supporting AGR Power on a first-of-its-kind 15-year virtual Power Purchase Agreement (vPPA) with Manchester City Council; defending a High Court claim on behalf of easyCOSMETIC; acting for Aquaint and ScrubMarine on funding from PraeSeed and advising Praetura Ventures on its NPIF II investment into Atomik AM, recognising the firms reputation as a go-to strategic adviser for complex transactional work.

Earlier this year, TLT was awarded Employment Team of the Year and Litigation Team of the Year at the Manchester Legal Awards, further recognising the firms reputation as a go-to strategic adviser for complex transactional and regulatory work.

Edens pioneering focus on sustainability and reducing carbon emissions has played a key part in TLTs latest environmental milestone, which has seen the firm achieve 93% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 (market-based) emissions compared to its FY2019 baseline, surpassing its near-term Science Based Target initiative (SBTi)-verified goal ahead of schedule. The firm is now addressing the remaining 7% with the launch of a carbon offsetting partnership with Belmont Estate.

TLTs people-first culture has been instrumental in TLTs success in Manchester in the last year, with Eden playing a significant part in spearheading TLT World, TLTs flexible, progressive and inclusive approach to work. The office has been designed from scratch with the latest technology to help colleagues blend remote work with working from home and with a variety of dedicated spaces for clients and colleagues to collaborate.

James Chadwick, Partner and Head of Location in Manchester commented: Our growth and achievements in Manchester in the last year signal our ambition to continue to invest in Manchester a city with a thriving business community and a hub for businesses across a wide variety of sectors.

Eden is not only a cornerstone of our national strategy, but it is also a central part of the business landscape in Salford providing a blueprint for the future of the UK workplace. As we mark our one-year anniversary in Eden, Im proud to look back on the speed at which our headcount is growing, and the interest people are showing in us, which is far from stopping here. There are still opportunities for us to enhance our footprint in Manchester to ensure we continue to meet the growing needs of our clients and our people. Its been a truly successful year for us in Manchester, made possible by the ongoing support of all our clients. We look forward to seeing what is coming next.

The news comes against the backdrop of record-breaking financial results for 2024/2025, with revenue rising to 187m. The firms success has been attributed to its long-term vision, which encompasses a focus on investing in its locations, including Manchester.
