TLT strengthens multi-disciplinary Payments team with strategic partner appointment

National law firm TLT has appointed Jack Houselander as partner in its multi-disciplinary Payments team, further developing the firm’s retail expertise and supporting the growth of its financial services practice.

Jack joins TLT from Addleshaw Goddard and brings a decade of experience advising on payments and fintech across multiple sectors. His expertise spans a wide range of transactional and advisory work, including in relation to cards, Open Banking, e-money, cash, strategic partnerships, and new product development. Jack’s clients include banks, fintechs, retailers, and technology providers.

The appointment comes as the UK payments sector undergoes significant regulatory and technological change. Jack’s arrival further demonstrates TLT’s commitment to helping clients navigate the complex payments landscape.

Working as part of TLT’s multi-disciplinary Payments team, Jack will play a key role in the strategic growth of the firm’s payments offering, building on its established reputation as a go-to adviser for clients in the financial services, digital and retail sectors.

Jack will work closely with TLT’s FSR team, which has grown rapidly over the past 12 months, under the leadership of top regulatory lawyer Amanda Hulme, who joined the firm in April 2024. Since then, the team has grown to a team of sixteen and has been providing strategic and innovative legal guidance to TLT’s clients.

Amanda Hulme, Partner and Head of financial regulation at TLT said: “The payments landscape is evolving at an unprecedented pace, creating both opportunities and challenges for businesses. Jack’s appointment strengthens our ability to provide clients with clear, strategic advice on their most complex and high-value projects. His experience across the full spectrum of payments work will be a real asset to our clients.”

Jack Houselander, Partner at TLT added: “TLT’s integrated approach, deep sector knowledge and diverse client base set it apart in the market. I’m excited to join such a strong team that is helping clients deliver complex projects and innovate while navigating regulatory and commercial change.”
