Another strong year of recognition for TLT in Chambers UK 2027
National law firm TLT has delivered another consistently strong performance in the latest Chambers & Partners UK rankings, securing seven Band 1 practice area rankings and 18 Band 1 individual rankings across key strategic areas of the business.
The Chambers & Partners are industry ratings that identify and rank law firms and individual lawyers based on rigorous, independent and in-depth research.
TLT has secured 24 UK-wide practice area rankings, including first-time rankings for Parliamentary & Public Affairs: Parliamentary Agency (UK-wide) and Planning (London). The firm's Licensing team also retained its UK-wide and Scotland practice area Band 1 rankings, alongside four individual Band 1 rankings UK-wide and in Scotland.
112 of the firm's people have also been ranked, 17 of those for the first time, with 18 lawyers securing Band 1 status including UK-wide rankings for Partners Amanda Hulme (Consumer Finance), Ben Watson (Employee Share Schemes & Incentives: Employee Ownership), Ewen Macgregor and Matthew Phipps (Licensing) as well as a first-time Band 1 ranking for Miles Trower (Competition).
The strong results follow another year of success in the Legal 500 rankings, which saw the firm achieve 98 individual and 84 practice area rankings, including 11 in tier 1.
These rankings follow a raft of strategic new partner appointments during 2026, including Helen Raynsford (Future Energy), Oliver Ward-Jones (Restructuring and Insolvency), Alison Richards (Government and Public Services), Fosia Solomou, Andrew Batterton, Julie Simms, John Webster and Jennie Chilton (Real Estate), Felicity Tulloch (Licensing), Scott Milligan (Employment), Natalie Coates and David Hamilton (Financial Services), Ruth Griffin (Projects, Infrastructure and Construction), and Caroline Churchill and Lorna Cropper (Digital, Data and Commercial).
The rankings build on a year of strong financial performance, with TLT reporting revenue of £208m in 2025/26, an 11% increase on the previous year and double the firm's turnover of five years ago.
Commenting on the results, John Wood, Managing Partner at TLT, said: "These are strong results for TLT and another sign of the rapid progress we are making against our growth strategy. They are testament to the quality of our people and the trust our clients place in us.
“I’m particularly pleased to see new and improved rankings across Future Energy, Financial Services, Government and Public Services and Digital. These are strategically important areas that will help shape the future of our country and our business, and where we have deliberately invested for long-term growth."
