TLT secures HALA reappointment as affordable housing sector enters a new era of growth

UK law firm TLT has been reappointed to the Housing Associations' Legal Alliance (HALA) framework, securing a place on Lot 3 (Development) and continuing the firm's role in supporting registered providers, local authorities, developers and investors across the affordable housing and regeneration sector.

The win follows the recent announcement of the first wave of funding allocations under the Government's £39 billion Social and Affordable Homes Programme (SAHP) which marked one of the most significant investments in affordable housing for a generation, providing renewed confidence and momentum across the market. Homes England confirmed funding allocations to support the delivery of tens of thousands of new social and affordable homes, with the programme forming part of the Government's ambition to deliver over 180,000 social and affordable homes over the coming years.

Against that backdrop, the reappointment ensures TLT will continue supporting clients involved in the delivery of affordable housing and regeneration projects across the UK.

HALA is a consortium of registered affordable housing providers committed to securing greater value from legal services through collaborative procurement, knowledge sharing and best practice.

Under the framework, TLT will continue to support HALA members on a broad range of development matters, including affordable housing delivery, regeneration projects, planning, joint ventures, construction contracts, strategic land transactions and building safety.

TLT’s Housing & Regeneration team advises registered providers, local authorities, developers and investors on housing-led regeneration and development projects across the UK. Bringing together specialists in real estate, planning, construction, housing management, public law, environmental and regulatory matters, the team supports clients throughout the development lifecycle and in navigating an evolving regulatory landscape.

Sarah Hale, Partner and tender lead, said: "We are delighted to have secured our reappointment to HALA's Development Lot. This is a fantastic result for the team and a recognition of the expertise, relationships and sector knowledge we have built over many years.

"The timing makes this particularly exciting. The significant investment being made through the Social and Affordable Homes Programme has created genuine optimism across the sector and a renewed focus on delivery. Registered Providers, local authorities and development partners are preparing for a substantial increase in activity as they work to bring forward the next generation of affordable housing and regeneration projects.

"We are incredibly proud of the role our Housing & Regeneration team plays in supporting clients through complex projects that deliver homes, investment and lasting community benefits. We look forward to continuing to work with HALA members and helping them make the most of the opportunities ahead."

The reappointment continues a successful period for TLT's Housing & Regeneration team, which has seen sustained growth in client instructions, major panel appointments and involvement in nationally significant development and regeneration schemes.
