Changes to biodiversity net gain for town and country planning
On 16 April the government announced the changes it would make to the regime for biodiversity net gain (BNG) for town and country planning applications, with draft legislation to follow by the end of May. Introduction of biodiversity net gain for infrastructure planning
On the same day, the government delayed the introduction of biodiversity net gain (BNG) to nationally significant infrastructure projects’ to 2 November 2026 while also confirming what the details of its implementation would be.
