Advice for commercial and residential landlords

Since 1 April 2018, landlords granting new tenancies of energy inefficient properties could be liable to hefty fines - up to £4,000 for residential landlords and up to £150,000 for commercial property landlords.
The Energy Efficiency (Private Rented Property) (England and Wales) Regulations 2015 (MEES) prohibit landlords from letting a property with an EPC rating of below E, unless an exemption applies.
