
TLT advises on acquisition of iconic London pubs
UK national law firm TLT has advised Young’s, the premium operator of pubs and bedrooms in London and the South of England, on the acquisition of Cubbit House and its portfolio of nine pubs in the UK’s capital.
The portfolio includes eight iconic leasehold pubs and pubs with bedrooms in west London: The Barley Mow (Mayfair), The Builders Arms (Chelsea),The Coach Makers Arms (Marylebone), The Grazing Goat (Marylebone), The Orange (Belgravia), The Princess Royal (Notting Hill), The Thomas Cubitt (Belgravia) and The Alfred Tennyson (Belgravia). The acquisition also includes a ninth pub in Belgravia, that is currently being developed.
The acquisition forms part of Young’s selective expansion strategy in London, operating well-invested pubs in prime locations, and will be funded from existing banking facilities with an expected completion date of 22 April 2026.
TLT advised on all legal aspects of the deal including legal due diligence and transaction documentation negotiation. The team was led by Corporate Partner Alice Gardner working alongside Kay Desai who led on the real estate aspects of the transaction, with support from Corporate Managing Associates Luke Thorngate-Davies and Sophie Phillips; Corporate Senior Associate Joanna Grover; Corporate Associate Antonia Oxford; Tax Partner Emma Bradley; Real Estate Legal Director Jane Fitzgerald; and Real Estate Managing Associate Will Birtwell.
