TLT Scottish growth reflected in strong Legal 500 and Chambers rankings

Following a year of continued growth and results for clients in Scotland, UK national law firm TLT has received a strong set of results in both the Chambers and Legal 500 legal directories.

The firm secured 13 Legal 500 practice area rankings in Scotland, alongside seven individual rankings and 11 Chambers practice area rankings and 11 individual, including first time TLT rankings for Kirstyn Burke (Administrative & Public Law) and Katherine Doran (Construction) - one of three lawyers promoted to partner in Glasgow earlier this year.

The firm has maintained its band 1 ranking for Licensing in the Chambers ranking in Scotland, with two partners in the Scottish team – Caroline Loudon, and Stephen McGowan – also retaining their Band 1 status, underlining the team's long-standing reputation as one of the leading practices in the Scottish market. Furthermore, Stephen McGowan - Partner and Head of Licensing (Scotland) - has also been awarded "Hall of Fame" status in the Legal 500 rankings, making him only the second licensing solicitor to have ever achieved this prestigious ranking in Scotland.

The results across both directories further demonstrate the strength of TLT's Scottish offering and the growing profile of its people across a broad range of sectors. In the past 12 months, the firm has experienced a period of sustained growth including with the appointments of Digital Partner Caroline Churchill in Edinburgh; Employment Partner Scott Milligan in Glasgow; Corporate lawyer Adam Howie as Legal Director; Financial Regulatory Disputes specialist Jordan Gray as Managing Associate, Michael McDougall as a Managing Associate and Chloe Crawford as an Associate in Licensing; and Corporate Associate Manahil Qadir.

Scotland was a key contributor to the firm's strong financial results in 25/26 which saw revenue rise 11 per cent to £208 million, reflecting increasing client demand across corporate, financial services, technology and regulatory matters.

John Paul Sheridan, Partner and Head of Location for Scotland commented: “These rankings reflect a year of sustained growth for TLT in Scotland, from expanding in Edinburgh and Glasgow and welcoming talented new lawyers, to delivering outstanding results for our clients. The breadth of recognition across both Chambers and Legal 500 demonstrates the strength of our Scottish practice and the increasing profile of our people across a wide range of sectors and specialisms including Future Energy, Financial Services, Real Estate and Leisure, Food & Drink. We're proud of what we've achieved and excited about the opportunities ahead as we continue to invest in Scotland.”
