TLT again named among The Times Best Law Firms

TLT has been recognised as one of The Times Best Law Firms 2027, marking the ninth consecutive year the firm has appeared in the prestigious listing.

The firm has been commended in the Administrative & Public Law and Planning categories, reflecting the strength of it's specialist teams and their work supporting public and private sector clients including on some of the UK’s most significant infrastructure planning projects.

The Times commended several examples of the firm's work over the past year, including:

  • Advising East West Railway Company on property, consenting and procurement aspects of the approximately £5 billion East West Railway project, which will deliver a new rail connection between Oxford, Milton Keynes, Bedford and Cambridge;
  • Supporting Capita on a major cyber incident and associated litigation and regulatory response.

This commendation follows another outstanding performance for TLT in the annual legal directories Legal 500 UK, and Chambers & Partners UK. The Chambers rankings saw TLT secure a first-time UK-wide ranking for Parliamentary & Public Affairs: Parliamentary Agency as well as a first-time London ranking for Planning, positioning the firm as a growing power in this area.

TLT Managing Partner John Wood said: “Nine consecutive years in The Times Best Law Firms is quite an achievement, and reflects the quality of our people and the work we are doing for clients.

“I’m particularly pleased to see our Administrative & Public Law and Planning teams recognised. These are areas where we have deliberately invested and built real strength. Our teams are working on nationally important projects, helping clients navigate difficult planning, regulatory and consenting issues.

“This requires real specialist expertise, people who understand the wider commercial and practical issues and can work across disciplines to get things done. This recognition belongs to the people doing that work every day, and to the clients who continue to place their trust in us.”

Nick Ogden, Co-Head of the firm's Infrastructure sector, added: “The challenges our clients are facing rarely fit neatly within a single practice area. Our inclusion in The Times Best Law Firms list, and the breadth of work highlighted, reflect how we bring together expertise from across TLT to provide a full service shaped around clients’ needs. Working at the intersection of disciplines allows us to look beyond individual legal issues and support clients through every stage of a complex project or challenge as together we unlock opportunities for growth.”
