TLT cements commitment to Birmingham with move to Centenary Way

UK national law firm TLT has confirmed it will relocate to new premises in Birmingham, a move driven by the firm’s rapid expansion in the City.

TLT entered the Birmingham market in September 2003 to deliver on its strategic ambitions to increase national footprint and enhance the level of service it offers clients in the Midlands. After two years on Chamberlain Square the firm has experienced exponential growth and is moving to new premises to meet this demand and position itself for what comes next.

The 55 strong (and growing) TLT team will occupy 13,820 sq ft on the sixth floor of One Centenary Way, part of the city’s £1.2billion Paradise estate. This expansion follows doubling the size of its current office a year into operations in the city in Autumn 2024, to accommodate the unprecedented number of colleagues joining the growing firm.

In the last two years, headcount has increased from three to 55, among them 11 partners, with strategic hires across all sectors and service lines. These include the recent arrival of Andrew Glaze (corporate finance and M&A) in addition to Kay Desai (real estate), Roy Grist (banking), Charlie Rae (employment), Jacob Cork (private wealth), Lorna Tipple (family law); alongside legal directors Rebekah Finch (commercial dispute resolution), Amanda Wootton and Julie Peel (financial services disputes investigations), Leanne Fryer (corporate) and Claire Gamage (commercial).

Birmingham is integral to TLT’s success and record breaking annual financial results for 2024/2025, with firm revenue rising to £187million, adding over £75million of revenue in the last four years. Key contributing, high profile mandates have included advising Birmingham City Council on procuring a joint delivery partner for the landmark Ladywood Estate Regeneration project; and successfully settling a claim for Kieron Dyer against British newspaper group MGN Limited in relation to voicemail interception and the misuse of private information.

Alongside its people and clients, innovation and sustainability are at the core of TLT and the new premises in Birmingham is aligned in its credentials, boasting a low-carbon steel façade made using renewable energy, all-electric infrastructure, and SMART building design aimed at maximising occupant wellbeing.

Mark Elder, Partner and Head of Location in Birmingham commented: “With this move we are delivering on our ambitions and sending a clear signal to the market that TLT is here in Birmingham for the long-term. We have quickly established ourselves as market leaders across our seven key sectors – future energy; real estate; leisure, food and drink; government and public services; digital and financial services – attracting high calibre talent and clients. Our new space will foster even greater growth, collaboration and creativity, we’ve made our mark and have no intention of stopping here. Birmingham is a thriving hub for business and innovation and the ideal fit for a firm with TLT’s presence and future facing strategic goals.”

John Wood, Managing Partner at TLT commented: “Being able to announce our move to Centenary Way marks another milestone in achieving our 2030 strategy and is part of another hugely successful year for TLT. As we prepare to head into the next, I’m excited by this phase of TLT’s growth, focused on being top tier advisers to our clients and valued for our values, which this move encapsulates.”
