TLT strengthens Financial Services offering with appointment of asset finance specialist Partner

UK law firm TLT has appointed Natalie Coates as a Partner in its Financial Services team, further strengthening its capabilities in asset finance and asset-based lending (ABL) as the firm continues to invest in areas aligned to long-term client demand and sector growth.

Joining from Blake Morgan, Natalie brings more than 18 years of experience across private practice and industry, including more than seven years with the UK leasing arm of BNP Paribas and a secondment with Barclays.

A leading asset finance and asset-based lending specialist, Natalie advises global financial institutions, large corporates and SMEs on complex financing and refinancing transactions. Her expertise spans receivables financing, operating and finance leases, loans and stocking facilities, alongside broader debt finance, restructuring and insolvency matters.

Natalie also brings significant in-house experience, enabling her to provide commercially focused advice on asset finance strategy, risk management and transaction execution. She has a particular interest in sustainable finance and has previously chaired ESG and DEI committees at Blake Morgan.

Natalie will work closely with colleagues across TLT's national Financial Services practice to support lenders, funders, corporates and growing businesses operating in the asset finance and ABL markets. The appointment further enhances the firm's ability to support clients with specialist financing arrangements and complements its wider banking, financial services regulation, litigation and restructuring capabilities.

Peter Carney, Partner at TLT, said: "Natalie’s deep industry expertise and market-focused experience in asset finance make her an exceptional addition to TLT and a significant opportunity for our clients and our wider practice.

"Her appointment will accelerate our strategic ambitions, strengthening the relationships we have built with financial institutions, growing SMEs and fintechs, while adding further depth to our specialist finance capabilities across areas including structured and consumer finance. We are particularly excited about Natalie’s leadership of our Asset Finance offering. Her energy, innovation and market insight will galvanise an already smart and dynamically assembled team, creating a powerful platform for growth and delivering even greater value to clients nationally."

Natalie Coates, Partner at TLT added: "TLT has built an impressive national Financial Services practice and has a clear growth strategy in areas closely aligned to my own experience. Asset finance and asset-based lending continue to play a critical role in enabling businesses to invest, grow and navigate changing market conditions, and I am excited about the opportunity to help clients achieve their ambitions while contributing to the firm's continued success."

Natalie is the fourth Financial Services focussed Partner to join the firm in the past twelve months, following the appointment of Orla Hanna, Ben Player and Jack Houselander.
