Jack is a commercial lawyer with over 10 years’ experience in the payments and fintech sectors, gained through law firm and in-house experience.
He advises banks, fintechs, retailers and technology companies on a wide range of commercial matters.
His expertise includes advising on card processing arrangements, Open Banking propositions, digital wallets, BNPL, embedded finance, alternative payment methods, and the design and launch of new payment products.
Jack also regularly drafts and negotiates customer and supplier agreements, strategic partnerships, and payment network partner and incentive agreements, as well as advising on compliance with payment network rules and PCI security standards.

- Cards – advising acquirers, issuers, programme managers, payment facilitators and retailers on their card processing arrangements, payment network rule compliance, payment network partnership and incentive arrangements and PCI compliance.
- Open Banking – advising on the design, documentation and implementation of Open Banking propositions and new developments, most recently about variable recurring payments.
- Alternative Payment Methods – advising APM providers and retailers on their payment processing arrangements, including digital wallet, buy-now-pay-later, e-cash and closed loop card products.
- Payment partnerships – advising on payments partnership arrangements, including referral, co-branding, white-labelling, marketplaces and platforms and BIN sponsorship arrangements.
- New payment products – advising on the design, documentation and launch of new payment products.
- Cash – advising cash suppliers and cash-in-transit carriers about wholesale cash supply, processing and bulk till arrangements.
