advising secured lenders on the enforcement and enhancement of their security;
the appointment of insolvency office holders and post-appointment advice;
business and asset sales; and
the recovery of assets allowing insolvency practitioners to recover sums for the benefit of creditors.
In addition, Emma has been involved in large scale cross-jurisdictional projects acting on behalf of a major financial institution.
Emma is also a member of the R3 Next Generation Committee in Scotland.

Experience
Instructed by a global accountancy firm to review and confirm the validity of appointment of administrators to various energy companies. This involved consideration of special administration regimes and was cross-jurisdictional, thereby requiring national collaboration across the team which was delivered seamlessly.
Part of the core team in respect of the acquisition of three retail brands, from the joint administrators of a retail group, on behalf of a leading online fashion retailer.
We were instructed on behalf of office holders in respect of the accelerated sale of the assets of a long-established printing company. We advised on all aspects of the insolvency appointment and accelerated sale for the office holders which involved a director led appointment with significant secured creditors together with intellectual property issues arising from the sale. Thereafter also dealing with winding up of a subsidiary company.
