Ainslie Benzie named Finance Rising Star of the Year at The Legal 500 Scotland Awards
TLT’s Ainslie Benzie, legal director and head of restructuring and insolvency (R&I) in Scotland, has won Finance Rising Star of the Year at The Legal 500 Scotland Awards.
The awards, which celebrate the achievements of lawyers, law firms, and in-house legal departments in Scotland over the past 18 months, have recognised Ainslie’s outstanding contributions to the field of legal finance.
The Finance Rising Start of the Year award acknowledges successes across the entire financial services sector, including banking - a highly competitive sector in Scotland.
This recognition caps a productive 18 months for TLT in Scotland, during which the firm has moved into the top floor of Glasgow’s flagship sustainable office development, and appointed Edinburgh based Keith Anderson and Douglas Roberts as partners in the commercial dispute resolution and national corporate teams respectively.
Ainslie Benzie commented: “I am thrilled to receive this recognition, and it’s a testament to the hard work, dedication, and expertise of our teams in Scotland. We look forward to building on our success over the coming year.”
John Paul Sheridan, partner and head of location in Scotland, said: “Ainslie’s recognition is very well-deserved, and it reflects the outstanding work of our entire Scotland team. We understand it takes a collective effort and great team work to achieve the success the firm has seen in Scotland over the past year. It motivates us to keep pushing boundaries and setting the pace in our industry.”
In addition to Ainslie’s win, partners Damien Bechelli, Stephen McGowan, John Paul Sheridan and Keith Anderson were also nominated for the Lawyer of the Year Award, showcasing the firm’s expertise in corporate, licensing, insolvency, professional negligence, sport and insolvency. TLT was also shortlisted for the ESG Firm of the Year Award, highlighting the firm’s commitment to responsible business practices.
